Thomas mcclure

Thomas McClure (he/him) is a 24-year-old Scottish writer and content creator based in Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway. He has a Masters Degree in Creative Writing from the University of Glasgow, and an NC and HND in Childcare and Childhood Practice from the Dumfries and Galloway College.

An enthusiastic writer, Thomas works with novels and stage plays and short stories and short films. His work often focuses on social issues, including politics and sociology, which includes themes such as class solidarity, intersectional feminism, trans rights and women's rights, queer identities, disabilities and neurodiversity, climate change, power structures and capitalism, history of marginalised peopes, and the threat of reactionary rhetoric, and more.

Early on in his creative career, Thomas developed a collection of short stories, and some readings of them with hired voice actors and commissioned artists, and released them online with the launch of his website on January the 1st of 2020. Around this time, he also worked with the CatStrand Youth and Anne Errington to create a Climate Change Performance called "Our Kind: Once Upon A Planet" and he participated in the inaugural year of Bunbury Banter Theatre Company's Young Playwrights Programme, which allowed him to refine his writing, work with some fantastic people, and produce his first short play. He also started a Creative Writing course at the University of Glasgow in 2020, all online because of the pandemic, and through that he produced a feature-length production called "Mankind Retold: An Exhibition of Monologues" before graduating in late 2021 with a Masters Degree in Creative Writing. He went on to create some short animated films and collaborate with many brilliant actors and artists.

Thomas is currently working on a stage play titled "Three Queens and the Sisterly War", which he hopes he can develop in various creative ways.
