A new physical comedy…
Conceived by Draya Maria and Jarad Rowan of PCS
Directed and Choreographed by Artistic Director Drew Taylor
Devised and Performed by Draya Maria, Jarad Rowan, Andre Anderson and Jodie Robertson
Assistant Director: Ellie Stevens
“Unsupervised Adulting” is a physical comedy exploring the possibilities of mundane objects, the desolation of office temping and wondering when being an “adult” will eventually begin… Set in every dull office you’ve ever done a temporary contract in – we see four young employees wrestle with their daily tasks, dance through their sorrow to 90s bangers and find joy in an imagined life of a hungry stapler.
Conceived by Performance Collective Stranraer [PCS] founding members Draya Miller and Jarad Rowan, developed during PCS’ Artistic Development Labs this new production combines clown, athletic physicality tight choreography and bursts with joy.
This is PCS’ First Professional Production [all our team are paid for their time in rehearsal and performance] and marks a shift in our ethos into a production company as well as a development organisation. Not only do we want to help shift changing attitudes in the Scottish Arts sector to welcome more working class, non-conservatoire trained productions from rural communities… we want to be at the forefront making that work too!
